Mark Turansky, Executive Director and owner of New Horizons, is a Professional Counselor with over 20 years experience. A "Kamaaina" since 1979, Mark graduated from the University of Hawaii (1984); he is a member of the AAC, AACC, a Certified Addictions & Recovery Specialist, certified Wellness Counselor and certified Marriage Life Coach.* Being trained as clergy, Mark got his start in counseling as a pastor but soon began to see that he had a natural gifting for helping others. This rich experience allows Mark to bridge the gap between the faith based community and the world of psychology. In 2012, Mark's hard work and accomplishments were noticed and recognized by Dr. Sunny Massad of the Hawaii Wellness Institute where he was awarded an honorary degree for Wellness, Coaching, Consulting and Counseling.
