DESCRIPTION: Hot Lanes - The Future of Highway Transportation Fluor and Transurban are working with The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to advance two innovative projects that will provide all travelers new choices and congestion relief. The Virginia HOT Lanes projects on the Capital Beltway and I-95/395 will expand the region’s most heavily traveled roadways and provide a new choice for motorists when they need a faster, more reliable trip. Together, the projects will create a 70-mile network for buses and carpools—providing travelers new opportunities and incentives to leave their cars at home. Hear from Transurban staff on the details of this project, parts of which will begin this year.
Plus we'll also have an overview from the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance on how our current pattern of traffic congestion emerged.
