Attraction Marketing: 4 Types of Prospects You DO NOT Want To Attract
Author: Karen SielskiIn attraction marketing you want to establish yourself as a leader, market your knowledge and value instead of your product and compensation plan, and continually learn. Our prospects have problems they want solved. They don’t really care about our product or service, they care about getting the problem or pain solved.
Regardless of our product or business, in general, only 3% of the general population will want or need what we have. If we talk to 100 people that would only be 3 customers or 3 business partners. That is not nearly enough for success.
In attraction marketing, we want to focus on people that want what we have to offer. Who are they and how do we find them? These are people that are already buying similar products. If we’ve got vacations then we want people that spend money on major vacations. If we’ve got vitamins, we want to target people that already spend money on vitamins. This may sound pretty basic but it’s easy to forget when we incorrectly focus on what we have to offer instead of what the prospect wants.
For example, if we are looking for network marketing business partners, you should primarily focus on other network marketers because they are already in the business. They’ve already “bought” what we are offering.
It's just as important to identify who you don't want to attract as it is to define who you do want to attract. There are some people you don’t want to attract, especially if you are looking for business partners. Here are 4 types of people you do not want to attract:
1. Negative Nellies And Whiners - There is no room on your team for whiners or negative nellies. You DO NOT, under any circumstance, want to attract negative people into your business. They will bring the whole team down faster than an olympic skiier coming down a run.
2. People That Aren't Accountable - You also don’t want to attract people that expect you to make them successful. Everyone needs to be 100% accountable and responsible for their own success.
3. Big Talkers - Last but not least, you don’t want people that will talk big and join your business and then sit back to see what happens. You want people that are passionate, committed, and ready to take action.
4. No Tire Kickers - These are people that are always looking for a big opportunity but don't start any. They will take valuable time that you can be spending with people that do take the first steps.
Your attraction marketing formula will be more successful the more focused you are. Pick a niche for your product or service and focus on it. Don’t be afraid to be extremely specific in your marketing. If you’ve got a magic potion that cures all, you’ll actually do better by marketing it for one specific ailment like joint pain.
Now that you know who your target prospect is, how do you find them? After all, it doesn’t do you any good to know who you are targetting if you can’t get them to know about you. Online marketing has revolutionized prospecting and made it easier than ever to use real-time lead generation to attract the right business partner or customer.
