This activity could mean that Bai Bian Dou could enhance T-lymphocytes and promote cellular immune functions.(6) Studies also indicate that Bai Bian Dou can promote the recovery of weakened immune functions.(7)
Bai Bian Dou can restore the reduction the amount of mouse total leukocytes induced by cyclophosphamide to the normal level.(8)
1g/ml of a Bai Bian Dou decoction can inhibit Bacillus dysenteriae as well as show detoxifying effects on vomiting and acute gastroenteritis induced by food poisoning.(9) In addition, this decoction of the seed had inhibiting effects on the Columbia SK virus in mice.(10)

It has strong coagulation effects on red blood cells, independent of specific blood types.(11)
