Blackberry Storm Vs the iPhone

The cell phone industry seems to evolve faster than we can learn to use them. But with the new smart phones in the market, it has taken all the familiar functions of our computer and cell phone and made them one.

The iPhone has led the pack with its new innovations and changed the way we use cell phones, but Blackberry has come out with a product called the Blackberry Storm that has just the same features. Consumers now have more options to choose from, some may prefer one over the other, taking each feature into consideration before making a decision.

  • Battery life. To many users, especially those who are away from their offices or homes most of the day, battery life is one of the major considerations on a smart phone. Although the Blackberry Storm and the iPhone both have the same battery life, the Blackberry Storm allows you to change batteries. You can carry an extra battery with you and change it when the one on your phone has died. The iPhone s battery cannot be switched.
  • The keyboard. The keyboard's efficiency may depend on a user; one may not mind typing without a stylus or the lack of a response signal from the keyboard. One problem seen on the iPhone s keyboard is that it doesn t make you feel that you ve hit the button like you would on the traditional keyboards. The touch screen keyboard doesn t have a sound to indicate that you have punched that key. The absence of a stylus is also a problem on the iPhone. The Blackberry Storm leads in this feature since the keyboard can be used with a stylus and the touch screen makes you feel that you ve actually hit a key with the touch screen s click through method.
  • Pictures and videos. Although video capability on the iPhone is limited it can take decent pictures through its 2.0 megapixel camera. The Blackberry Storm on the other hand takes better images with its 3.2 megapixel camera and is capable of recording videos.
  • Memory. The Blackberry Storm has a memory capacity of 1GB but can be expanded with a microSD media card up to 16GB. So you can have a bunch of cards with you in your wallet to take a long. The iPhone on the other hand has a memory capacity of 16GB. Some people may not consider having to replace memory cards since it is so tiny and easy to lose.
  • Both smart phones have likeable features but some may be better than the other. The choice will still be up to the user, considering how they choose to use the cell phone and what features that can maximize.
