Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence in Colorado Planning and Evaluation 9:00am-12:00pm Presenters: Sharon Knight, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Colorado Nonprofit Association and Cindy Walters, Regional Manager, Social Solutions Evaluation and planning are two important aspects of every nonprofit's work. Not only can effective use of both lead to improved programs and service, but evidenced-based programming and outcomes measurement (used for evaluation) is more important than ever to the funding community. The planning portion of this class will feature essential practices for nonprofits to follow in defining their overall activities including community input, strategic planning, operational plans, risk management and disaster planning. During the evaluation portion of this class participants will learn about the critical fundamentals for effective program evaluation. Executive directors, board members and program staff responsible for evaluation are the primary targets for this important workshop. Optional: Lunch and Networking 12:00pm-12:30pm Lunch will be included for those who are registered for the full day of training. Those attending the either the morning or the afternoon session only can register and pay $10 for lunch as well. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch on your own. Foundation boards and donors want to know that their funds are being used wisely. Learn how to develop a plan for evaluation and how to best report your effectiveness to the people that invest in your organization.
