Originally published at Internet.comThe BroadSwitch product line from SOHOware is targeted primarily to SMB deployments, and now includes products providing Fast Ethernet (10/100), Gig Ethernet, PoE, and VDSL connectivity (including VDSL modems). The fast Ethernet switches typically feature Gigabit uplink ports (included or optional, depending on model), and switches are offered in managed, "Smart," (Web) and SNMP Lite managed flavors.
Among the currently available switches in the product line are:
- PFE-801: a managed, 8 port switch (10/100 TX), 4 of which support PoE injection.
- GE-16W: a Web-managed Layer 2 switch with 16 10/100/1000 TX ports.
- GE-24F4GBW/M: 20 10/100/1000 TX ports + 4 10/100/1000 TX Mini-GBIC combo ports. This switch is offered in Web or SNMP Lite managed flavors.
- PE-24F2GBTM: 24 10/100 ports + dual 10/100/1000 Mini-GBICs. This SNMP managed switch also supports PoE injection over all 24 10/100 ports.
- FE-24F2GBTW: 24 10/100 ports + dual 10/100/1000 ports in a Web managed switch.
- FES2402i: A managed switch with 24 10/100 ports and dual Gig expansion slots for uplinks. The slots can accommodate 1000Base-T, 1000Base-SX or 1000Base-LX modules.
- PES Series: Offered in 24 10/100 + dual 10/100/1000 port flavors (in fully managed or Web managed flavors), or an 8 10/100 port version. All feature PoE injection; the 24 port switches provide the injection over all 24 ports and the 8 port version offers it on 4 ports.
- ENV1600: A 16 port VDSL switch with dual Gig Ethernet slots for uplinks. The ENV1600 is complemented by the ENV0200 modem, a termination point that includes a single RJ-45 10/100 port for the LAN and a VDSL port (with dual RJ-11 connectors) for the incoming VDSL line.
- NV2400/NV800-SO: Also VDSL switches, offered in 24 and 8 port flavors. Both are managed switches. The 2400 includes a 10/100/1000 BaseT and a GBIC slot; while the 800 includes dual 10/100BaseT ports for the uplink. Like the ENV series, the NVs are complemented by the NV200 modem, which is offered in single or dual VDSL port designs (with single or dual Ethernet ports, respectively). Both modems also include a single POTs/ISDN jack; each VDSL port of the switches includes built-in POTs/ISDN splitter technology.
