S. Chamber's Southeast Regional Office Manager, Debbie DeLong Carrothers, and the N. C. Chamber President, Lew Ebert; Panel discussion including State Senator Fletcher Hartsell and State Representatives Jeff Barnhart, Linda P. Johnson and Fred Steen; and County Commission Board Chair, Jay White. The chamber's Legislative Agenda for 2008 will be presented by Alex Barker, Governmental Affairs Chair. Our annual gathering as guests of the Kannapolis Intimidators at Fieldcrest Stadium on Lane Street in Kannapolis, will begin at 6:05 p.m. as the gates open. Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce members and their employees and families are invited to call the ballpark (704-932-FANS) and make reservations for complimentary tickets that can be picked up at the “Will Call” window on the 10th.

Transportation Summit – Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Date: June 5, 2008 – Thursday
Location: Kannapolis Train Station

The summit is an informational regional event focused on transportation issues that affect the Cabarrus Region. Presenting will be members of the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Division of Aviation, North Carolina Railroad, and the U. S. Annual Golf Classic
Date: September 15, 2008 - Monday
Location: The Club at Irish Creek.
Two tee-times will accommodate teams of four for a round of golf on the redesigned course by Davis Love. Play is limited to 32 teams at 8:00 a.m. and 32 teams with 1:00 p.m. Members of the Chamber and their guests will enjoy a round of golf for $300 per team which will includes green fees, cart, lunch and continental breakfast for morning players or heavy snacks for afternoon golfer with a reception for all golfers at the end of the day. The theme for this event is “Cabarrus Treasures: the Hunt for Hidden Gems”. This event will host members who wish to showcase their business by purchasing display space to show their products and to sell those products and services. The Cabarrus Regional Chamber will host this event in place of the Business After Hours for the month. Chamber members will be treated to lots of networking, tastes of the area’s finest restaurants and entertainment. November 5, 2008 – Wednesday

Location: Lowe’s Motor Speedway Infield Media Center.
This event celebrates and recognizes the importance of the motorsports industry in our region by highlighting the abundance of industry businesses that enhance our region’s economy and draws from our enviable assets to include speakers that are literally in our own backyard. “State of the Region Summit”
Date: November 13, 2008 – Thursday
Time: 8:00 – 12:00 p.m.
Location: AMC Theatres – Concord Mills.
This annual fall event provides an opportunity for paid and elected officials of our region to address local issues of concern to business and community leaders. Other speakers may include experts in fields such as economics and business development.
