The Procedure

A pocket is created between the fibrous covering of the muscle and the muscle itself. The pocket is made large enough for the implant to be slipped in.

Once the pocket is made, the implant is gently inserted, if two implants are require, then the procedure is repeated so that the second implant can be inserted. After examining your leg, if everything looks good, your surgeon will stitch the incision closed.

• The incision site may separate

• Deep vein thrombosis

• A pulmonary embolism
