An auto accident can happen at any time and anywhere. Having auto insurance is extremely important to getting your vehicle fixed. Talk to your insurance company or check your contract to find out the length of time you will have to rent a vehicle. Most companies allow a generous amount of time to rent a vehicle while yours is being fixed.

A lot of drivers do not think about rental insurance when they get car insurance. It takes an accident and a call to the insurance company for some to find out just what they actually have. Unfortunately, many people do not realize that they have not chosen the rental insurance when they started their car insurance premium.

Rental reimbursement insurance can be available for a very low fee on your auto insurance policy. Typically, it costs anywhere from $1 to $2 extra a month. It may not seem like a needed extra at the time you get your policy, but if you are in an accident and need to rent a car, the money for that adds up fast. Even if you do not have an accident for years, having rental insurance can still pay for itself if and when you need it the most.
