To dress up your wedding day, consider creating a traditionally romantic cascading bouquet instead of the more contemporary round bouquet. Gather your flowers and follow these simple steps to create a bridal bouquet that flows from your fingers like a waterfall of flowing blooms. These directions work for cut or silk flowers.

Materials:
12-15 Medium sized flowers
15-20 Small sized flowers
(Instead of individual stems, you can buy sprays of coordinated flower clusters.)
12-15 stems of greenery
Ribbon
Floral stem wrap
Bouquet holder

Tools:
Glue gun & glue sticks
Scissors

Additional materials for cut flowers:
Floral foam
Bowl
Water
Refrigerator

  1. Prepare the flowers. If you are using silk flowers, begin with step 2. For cut flowers, cut the floral foam to fit the bouquet holder. Place the foam and bouquet holder upside down on the bowl of water to let the foam soak up some water. Make sure the cut flowers you purchased are fresh and have been treated with a preservative so they will survive for your special event.
  2. Design the bouquet. Once you have gathered the flowers, experiment with the design of the drape. Consider using one or two medium-sized flowers as the focal point of the cascade, then fill in the others up to the rounded top.
  3. Secure the cascade stems. After deciding upon the design, lay the longest cascade stems on a table and secure them together using the floral stem wrap. The longest stems should be from 6” to 12” long, depending upon the desired length of the cascade....
