Having a baby is usually one of the most stressful times in a couple's relationship. This workshop, which is based upon research by renowned relationship expert Dr. John Gottman, helps give couples practical tools they can use to maintain their closeness while developing their "new normal" as a family.

Your Family is invited to the Seventh Annual Kids Day for Conservation. Numerous organizations and businesses will conduct a wide variety of natural resource activities suitable for children of all ages. KDC is designed to educate and help kids make a difference for conservation in their community. Kids will discover amphibians, birds, fish and other critters living in our area. Build a bird house to take home, do a nature art project, explore a soil tunnel, climb a rock wall or shoot a bow and arrow. Families will learn how to conserve energy and water, see how wildfires spread, and how to protect your family from them. Kids will have the opportunity to explore alternative energy sources including wind turbines and solar cells. This is only a sample of all you can see and do at this annual family event. Last year over 1500 youth and adults participated in KDC. Dick Powell, founder of Benton County Kids Day for Conservation, with Starker Forests comments, ¡°A local mom told us thank you for KDC because we had so much more to offer than she, a home school mom, could ever offer her child.¡± There will be something for everyone at Kids Day for Conservation. In 2009 the Festival will be held at the Family Fun Center for the first time! We are ready to grow and include more vendors and more attendee's with our new partners the Family Fun Center! With more parking, easier access, bigger tents and a few surprises, this year¡¯s Fall Food Fest will be the best ever! This year, the event will be held on September 10th, and will start at 4:30 p.m. and go until 7:30 p.m. Be sure to get your tickets early and save some money! Tickets are $40.00 for a family of five or $10.00 each until September 9th.Come meander the isles of tasty treats and temping morsels from local restaurants, caterers and event planners.
