Private Clinic Albany is an Opiate Treatment facility that treats opiate addicted patients. In our community, opiate addiction is no longer confined to those who use “street drugs” such as heroin. Often, the mental picture which comes to mind is a person in an alley shooting up. This is not the case any longer. The majority of our patients have gotten addicted to prescription drugs such as:

Codeine, Dilaudid, Heroin, Hydrocodone, Lortab, Lorcet, Percocet, Percodan, Morphine, Oxycodone, and Oxycotin.

Addiction today is no longer confided to the alley’s, but instead is in our neighborhoods and our homes. People from all walks of life are addicted to opiates. Addiction knows no social, economical or racial boundaries. Opiate addiction is a serious problem in our country and will become an even bigger problem in the years ahead.

The Anchorage, Inc., is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit Christian organization dedicated to the transformation of men whose lives have been ravaged by alcohol/drug addiction.

Addiction has no boundaries. It affects all economic, racial, and spiritual groups. Our clients range from successful, well-educated professionals to the hourly shift workers. Addiction makes these men one in the same. At The Anchorage, there are no special treatments provided based on education level, income, race, or depth of spirituality. Each man is here for one purpose: to overcome his addiction. Our goal is to help show him the path to productivity.

Our doors are open to men above the age of 18 who have successfully completed a 5-day detoxification period, have no outstanding warrants or court dates, no serious health problems, and are comfortable in a Christian environment.

There is no charge to clients for the sixteen-week Phase I of our program other than a $40 processing fee. This program is totally supported by individuals, businesses, civic organizations, churches, and foundations from the local community and beyond.

The Anchorage has deep roots in the community and the word of Christ. Our story began in 1953, when the Hudson Malone Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church of Albany faced the challenge of trying to aid a person with alcoholism. After several unsuccessful attempts, the group located a Christ-based alcohol rehab center, Bethel Colony of Mercy, in Lenoir, North Carolina. The man entered the facility where he received spiritual counseling. The teaching opened his eyes to his need for Christ to replace his need for alcohol.

Dormitory Room The Sunday school class soon recognized the need for such a program in Southwest Georgia. They established and incorporated The Anchorage, Inc. in Leesburg, GA. In 1987, the program was expanded to accommodate all substance addictions. The program relies on contributions from individuals, churches, businesses, civic groups, and foundations.

In 2013, The Anchorage will celebrate 60 years of service. The impact of the ministry has grown beyond our roots in Southwest Georgia and we have alumni all across the United States. To date, The Anchorage has served over 14,000 men.

The Anchorage, Inc. is a vital ministry which needs your prayers and financial contributions to continue to provide a place of refuge and recovery for those caught in the bondage of addiction. To God be the Glory!
