25th NATIONAL MAYHAW FESTIVAL IN COLQUITT
The 5th annual Mayhaw Festival Century Bike Ride will be held in Colquitt on April 5th beginning at Miller County High School. The Mayhaw Festival Classic Golf Tournament will be held on April 10th at Crooked Oak Golf Club.
The 25th annual National Mayhaw Festival will be held in Colquitt on April 19th at Spring Creek Recreation Park. On Friday, April 18th there will be a barbecue and bake sale on the Square at 10 a.m., also on the square at 6 p.m. “Clutch” will be performing.
Saturday will start with a 5K race and a 1 mile fun walk at 8:30 at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church. A Main Street parade will begin at 10 a.m. followed by local entertainment, and featuring country music singer, Shane Owen at the Festival at the Park at 11:30am & 3pm. Vendors will be selling arts, crafts, collectibles, and a variety of food; and Mayhaw Jelly, “the best jelly in the world,” will be in abundant supply. There will be many special attractions and displays for all ages. There will be a Mega Slide, Rockclimb, Funhouse, Spider Mountain and Pony Rides for children.
The musical comedy, May-Haw, will be held on Friday at 7:30pm and Saturday at 2:30 & 7:30pm in Cotton Hall, a renovated warehouse transformed into a rustic, multi-stage theatrical setting.
