This is most commonly done using a wheelbarrow, as people take the cement, sand, and water and work hard to mix it by hand. Just recently, a new alternative for hand mixing has come about to make things a little bit easier. Special tarps eliminate the need for a bulky and expensive wheelbarrow, but they still require a lot of work. Beyond that, there really is no other suitable alternative product to the machine concrete mixer. It is, at this moment, the most cost efficient way to create the common substance. It is also the method that requires the least work.
