Instead of buying expensive shirts or spending money getting them designed to suit your requirements, you can make you own interesting shirts with creative designs or sayings or phrases. All you need to do is pick up a batch of white shirts, buy spray paints in different colors, collect some cardboard paper and waste paper, and you're ready to go!
STEP 2:
Placing the shirt. Place the shirt which is to be painted on a clean and flat surface, with a sheet of thick cardboard paper inside the shirt to disallow paint from seeping on to the other side of the shirt. The area you will be using should be bright and well-ventilated as paint fumes can prove harmful, if breathed in. Cover the shirt with waste paper, plastic or old rags, leaving only the spot where the stencil will be placed exposed.
STEP 3:
Fixing the stencil. Place the cut-out design or quote which you prepared in step one, on the exposed part of the shirt. Since the stencil is made out of heavy paper, there might be no need to weigh it down or pin it to the shirt, though you can do that as well.
STEP 4:
Spray. Fill the sprayer with the color of your choice and hold it about 5-6 inches away from the shirt. Spray the paint and finish filling in the design or quote. If the design needs more than one color, replace the paint in the sprayer and repeat until you're done.
STEP 5:
Drying the paint. Allow the paint to dry over a period of 1-2 hours. Once the paint has completely dried, wash the shirt as you would normally, but do not mix it with other clothes this first time. Once you've worn the painted shirt after this wash, you can add it the rest of your normal load for the next wash onwards.Using spray paint to create all kinds of designs or quotes on your shirts is simple and easy.
