Deck Designed in a Day Atlanta GA

The deck was designed in a day and the project was completed in two weeks and two days. All post holes were dug to 32" into the ground, five beam support posts were evenly positioned along with four railing posts, all posts were cemented and allowed a weekend to cure. On the second day, beam support posts were cut and leveled, the beam was installed, and next the ledger was installed and the deck floor joists on 16" centers.

On the third day, the framework for the stair landing was built, and five more railing posts were cemented. The fourth, fifth and sixth days was when blocking between the joists along the beam was installed, the framework for the custom steps was installed and 1/2"x7" galvanized lag bolts were attached to the posts in key deck support areas.

The seventh, eighth and ninth days brought 5/4 x 6" decking being installed with deck board clips, so that there were no screws visible from above. The decking took three days because the boards were still wet and needed to fully air dry prior to installation. Day 10, all railing 4 x 4 posts were covered with 5/4 x 6" planks to beef up their appearance. The eleventh and twelfth days was when all railings were installed. The thirteenth day saw the deck being sealed with a tinted wood sealer, and on the fourteenth day, copper post caps installed.

That in a nut shell is how this deck came to be!
