(NC)-A number of innovative products are now available that can enhance the backyard swimming experience. Water features, for example, such as waterfalls or fountains, add to the enjoyment of the pool by producing the delightful sound of splashing water along with the visual appeal of water in motion.
Special underwater LED lighting systems are also available that can create a single colour in the water to suit the mood you want to create in the backyard. These systems can also transition from one colour to another for an ever-changing colour display and can even flash or pulsate colours to create a party atmosphere outdoors.
Deck coatings can rejuvenate the area around the pool. Textured for added slip resistance, these coatings are stain and water resistant and come in a range of colours and patterns. Rubberized coatings keep the deck surface cool and are flexible so they can expand and contract during temperature changes to prevent cracks from forming. Stamped concrete coatings are another option. They can be used to create realistic-looking stone, brick or tile designs on the patio. Also popular is stone aggregate - a hand-troweled coating that uses stone, gravel or pebbles to create a heavy surface texture around the pool.
