Every single day some new product is invented. Unfortunately, many of these amazing and revolutionary products can't get to the market because of the cost. Many inventors are great at developing new products, but have little idea how to go about marketing and distributing products. Luckily, there are many ways to develop a product and get it to the market so it can be sold. One of the best options for marketing a new product is through direct response TV. This method of advertising is more affordable than many comparable types of advertisements especially when the amount of people that see the commercial is taken into mind. A single direct response TV commercial, commonly referred to as an infomercial, may be seen by millions of people. That's a lot of potential customers and even if a small percentage buy the product. Of course, just because a product is a great product does not mean it is right for a direct response TV campaign. There are several important considerations that must first be weighed before deciding on this marketing medium.

One of the first things that must be considered is the budget. It is not cheap to market products through direct response TV although it is more affordable than traditional commercial airtime. If the advertisement will reach enough people to justify the cost then that is certainly a benefit. If not, this type of advertising may not be an option. There are creative ways to fund these types of campaigns and the good news is that many orders will be received when the infomercial airs, which will result in immediate cash flow!

Target Market

The target market should also be considered when it comes to evaluating whether or not this type of advertising is affordable. For example, products that can be advertised to the masses are usually very successful when it comes to direct response TV. Great products that have a small target market are not as successful because there aren't enough customers to justify the expense of this type of marketing.

The most important thing is to create a plan. With a detailed plan it is easier to determine whether or not your product should be marketed through direct response TV and if it is possible to come up with the necessary funds to do so. These are just a few things to keep in mind when it comes to making a decision regarding DRTV.
