Doremi Labs has announced its launch of V1-HD-2K, a video server with dual-link HD-SDI and synchronized two-channel playback for 3D, Video+Key, and super-widescreen applications. Designed as a playback device for large-screen presentations, concerts, and other high-resolution display applications, it includes random access to simple video clip and play list programming. In a post- or video-production environment, the V1-HD-2K functions as a multiformat digital recorder of SD and HD video.
The two-channel playback material can be recorded in one of three ways: simultaneous recording of both video streams, recording the two streams in separate passes, or by transferring TIFF files via Ethernet to the device.
The V1-HD-2K features JPEG2000 video compression up to 300 Mbs, which helps preserve the quality of the video image while significantly reducing storage requirements. The hot-swap 300 GB drive provides up to six hours of storage; an additional 300 GB drive or external RAID5 chassis are also available.
