Storing the Windows Desktop Personality:

1.Insert the Easy PC Transfer CD. Follow the on screen instructions to install Easy PC Transfer on the source machine.

2. If using the Direct Connect feature disable 3rd party firewall (McAfee, Norton, etc.) software as the firewall may prevent the computers from communicating directly.

3. Launch Easy PC Transfer via the icon that was created on the desktop. You can also launch Easy PC Transfer from the Start Menu/AllPrograms/Migo Software/Migo Easy PC Transfer->Migo Easy PC Transfer.

4. Select 'Store' on the Welcome Screen and choose 'Next'. At the prompt, enter your Name and Registration Code.

5. On the System Settings Selection Screen, select the system settings you wish to migrate and choose 'Next'.

6. On the Application Settings Selection Screen, select the applications whose settings you wish to migrate and choose 'Next'.

7. On the Files and Folders Screen, select the files and folders you wish to migrate. On this screen, you may also migrate files based on their file type or directory location. Choose 'Exclude Items.' to exclude files from the file sets you have selected for migration. Choose 'Next'.

8. On the Migration Method Screen choose 'Direct' if your computers are connected via a network or cable and you want to migrate the settings in real time. Selecting next will generate dialog box which tells you how to find this computer from your new computer. Go to the new computer and follow the instructions for Applying the Desktop Personality.

9. If you want to move your data later or if the machines are not connected, choose 'File' and specify a location to save your settings file. If moving via a file choosing 'Advanced' provides options for large data migrations or to password protect your destination file. Choose 'Next' to begin the storing process.

10. The Storing Settings Screen provide status on the migration and will show which settings and files are being stored.

11. Wait for the message 'The migration is complete' on the screen. Select Finish to complete the migration.

12. If migrating via a file, copy the PNP to a location where it can be used for the Apply phase of the migration: this can be to a network or shared drive, or to a digital media disk (CD or DVD).
