After upgrading from a basic hard drive having EISA (Extended Industry Standard Architecture) partitions to dynamic disk, partitions may become invisible and may not displayed in proper location. In such cases, you may not access your significant files stored on them and face critical file loss situations. File Recovery is required to sort out such problems.

When upgrade process completes, hard drive partitions isn’t displayed and can not be managed using MMC (Microsoft Management Console) and LDM (Disk Management snap-in.

When the EISA partition resides on the dynamic disk, this is shifted by Disk Management to partition two and there is no drive letter associated with this partition. The partition does not show as a general Simple volume. The only command that is accessible when you right-click the partition is Help. Other commands like Explore, Deleted and Reformat aren’t accessible.

The invisibility and improper position of EISA partition in the Disk Management is a side effect of the way in which LDM handles such kind of partitions.

EISA partition is generally the first partition on physical disk. The disk management shows this partition in proper location when it exists on basic disk, enabling you to explore, reformat or delete it.

The partition is protected by the Disk Management from being corrupted in any way when this resides on dynamic disk. You can not re-create the partition using Windows 2000 Disk Management; it can only be done using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer).

If you accidentally delete or re-create EISA partition on dynamic disk outside of Windows 2000, then it could result into serious file loss situations and may also created startup problems and make your system unbootable. If the partition is visible and you wish to delete the partition, you should first backup all the existing volumes on dynamic disk.

To overcome these file loss situations, you are suggested to opt for File Recovery Software. These are advanced applications that systematically scan whole hard drive and extract all of the files from it.

The File Recovery Software have interactive and simple graphical user interface that allow you to have quick and straightforward recovery in most of the file loss situations. As these software have read-only conduct, they always perform safe and original recovery.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is commanding File Recovery software that use efficient scanning mechanisms to scan the whole drive and extract all files and partitions from it. It supports recovery from FAT16, FAT32, VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file system partitions of Windows Vista, 2003, XP and 2000.
