Study groups can be a good way to prepare for an upcoming test or special project. Keep the group to three or four friends that you know are going to really want to study. Look in the newspaper classified ads. Retired adults may advertise that they are willing to help students with homework at no charge. Do not just take this upon yourself. Make sure your parents are involved with the decision and know the person.

For-pay tutors are also an alternative.

Ask your teacher if he or she knows of homework assistance. Your teacher may know of someone who would work with you after school as you need help. Also, the teacher may know of programs that are offered in your city.
