Originally published at Internet.comADI, a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal-processing applications, announced yesterday that its Advantiv "advanced television solutions" will be used to enable Hitachi's wireless video hub to deliver HD video content wirelessly to Hitachi's ultra-thin Wooo UT flat-panel HDTVs.
ADI's Advantiv solutions are currently used by some of the world's leading consumer electronics brands to drive high-definition systems, including plasma and LCD HDTVs, Blu-ray disc players, DVRs, audio/video receivers (AVRs), and the HD interconnects that carry content between them.
"As demand for wireless digital entertainment increases, ADI's signal processing technology plays an important role in helping Hitachi realize many of its pioneering ideas," said Bill Bucklen, director, Advanced Television Segment, Analog Devices in a press release Wednesday. "ADI's broad portfolio of audio and video signal processing solutions helped Hitachi deliver a compelling HD viewing experience for their Wooo UT LCD-TV customers."
Hitachi's TP-WL700H wireless unit, which employs UWB wireless technology, uses three Advantiv advanced television solutions ICs to provide enhanced HD video compression, decompression, and transmission technology.
With monitors as thin as 35 mm, Hitachi Wooo UT series flat-screen LCD HDTVs are available in three models, the 42-inch UT42-XV700, the 37-inch UT37-XV700, and 32-inch UT32-HV700B/W/R/A. All are compatible with Hitachi's optional TP-WL700H wireless unit.
