Description:
In this workshop, participants will explore a number of images and metaphors from the Christian medieval tradition related to the Holy Spirit in the context of concern for and stewardship of the environment. Sample themes include reconciliation and healing, "greening", bond of love, flowing waters, and servant leadership. Elizabeth Dreyer, Ph.D, Professor of Religious Studies at Fairfield University will lead the program. She lectures widely on the history of religious experience and contemporary lay spirituality. Her published works include: Holy Power, Holy Presence; Earth Crammed with Heaven; A Spirituality of Everyday Life; and Making Sense of God: A Woman's Perspective. Saturday, November 7th from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. The program fee is $35 and includes lunch. In honor of the 60th anniversary of Wisdom House, participants may each bring one friend for $6 payable with registration.
