All those appliances that you use on a daily basis can get pretty messy. It can be pretty daunting when you think about cleaning them and you may want to put it off. There are some simple, easy tips on cleaning your appliances.

Your blender can be one of the messiest appliances in use in your kitchen. The majority of the blender jars can be washed in your dishwasher; however, some of them can't and it is important that you wash them correctly. Fill the jar with warm water and dish detergent and run it on high for 15 seconds. Rinse it well and dry it. Don't wash the blades in the dishwasher or they won't stay as sharp as they should. You can use a glass cleaner to clean up the stainless steel surfaces of your blender. Just spray it and buff it with a cloth. You can clean the plastic bases with a mixture of baking soda and water or an all-purpose cleaner.

If you have a drip coffeemaker, it is easy to clean. First change the filter, then wash the pot, lid, and basket in some warm soapy water. Lastly, wipe the base clean with a damp cloth.

Having an electric can opener can be extremely convenient, but they are no fun to clean if they get messy. First, unplug your can opener before you clean it. Never immerse the case in water. After every use, wipe your can opener down with a dampened sponge to remove any spills or drips. Every so often you will want to
remove the cutting wheel and the lid holder and soak them in hot soapy water. Use an old toothbrush to scrub off caked-on food. Once the parts are rinsed and dried, you can replace them.

Cleaning your toaster is never fun. Unplug the toaster and allow it to cool before you clean it. Never immerse the toaster in water. Wipe the outside of the toaster on a regular basis to keep it as smudge free as possible. Remove your crumb tray and shake out the crumbs and wash it in warm soapy water. If there is no crumb tray, turn it upside down and shake it out over the sink or garbage can. Use a soft brush to remove any crumbs from the inside of the toaster.

Your dishwasher may be great at washing your dishes, but it can get dirty in the process. To clean smudges from the outside, use a solution of baking soda and warm water. You can also use this to remove stains from the liner. If you need to clean out hard-water stains and deodorize your dishwasher, then run an empty load and use powdered lemonade mix. The ascorbic acid in it will make the inside of your dishwasher sparkle. If you still have an odor in your dishwasher, sprinkle about three tablespoons of baking soda in the bottom of the machine. Let it sit overnight and the odors will wash away with the next cycle.

To clean your microwave, use a mild dishwashing detergent, baking soda, or a glass cleaner. You can wash the glass tray in the dishwasher or the sink. If you have some old sauces splattered in your microwave, you can place a glass measuring cup inside with some water and vinegar in it. Boil it for a few minutes and the splatters should wipe off easily.

These are all simple tips to keep your appliances maintained and running smoothly. Not only that, they will look good, too.

WARNING: Make sure to wear the proper safety wear when dealing with chemicals or working with tools while cleaning your appliances to prevent injuries or illnesses.
