Steps

  1. The first stage in any venture of this scale is to take community action. Join groups of like-minded people; if you can't find any, consider starting one. Transition Towns are a strong force in society at the moment.
  2. Gather information on how your community or organizations around you are participating in going green.
  3. Begin to participate in daily activities, whether you are recycling a can or planting more trees. Every little bit helps, and the best way to teach others is by example.
  4. Share your information and experiences with your peers.
  5. Keep up with your green work and stay up-to-date with environmental news.
  6. Try every possible way to go green, if every one did this, imagine how much we would help the earth!

  • Participate in projects locally - grassroots movements are stronger.
  • Start with small projects and move up to large ones.
  • Try these simple (and more advanced) ways to go green:
  • recycle
  • put a brick in the TANK of your toilet to reduce the water that is used per flush
  • use reusable water bottles
  • do two car trips less a week (there are exceptions)
  • eat local fruit and vegetables
  • have a plant or two in your house, not only does it help the environment but it is healthy as well.
