Steps

  1. This is very important and should be given great care in doing, find a quiet place to do your homework. May it be the library, a park, or in your room or office, you should find the quietest place to complete your assignments.
  2. Avoid distractions. If you have family members that distract you, politely ask them to leave so you can continue with your assignments. If you have kids, this might not be possible. Make sure the TV and radio are off. If you need background noise, classical music might be of interest.
  3. Take frequent breaks. Go for a walk, ride your bike, or be with family. When you take frequent breaks, you find that you aren't boggled with the stress of homework and you can't wait to get back to your assignments later.
  4. As always, highlight or underline key points in your material. Don't forget pictures, paragraph titles, or important and relevant events.
  5. If you are stressed, don't forget to walk away from the homework for awhile.
  6. When in your room, do not lay down and study. You may find yourself dosing off and not getting any work done.
  7. Pick a time to study. Some people prefer day and some at night.

Warnings

  • If you get eye strain and headaches, put away the homework for a while and do something else.
