Installing vertical blinds is not as hard as you may believe. It may also help save you some money when you do it yourself. Below are the steps you can follow the easily and painlessly install your vertical blinds.
- First, you will need to collect all the tools. You will need a screwdriver, drill, pencil, tape measure, and a level. After you have all your tools you need to gather your materials. This may not come with the vertical blinds themselves, so make sure you have everything including the head rail, vanes, mounting clips, brackets and screws, valance corners, ends and clips.
- Mark where you want to put the brackets on the bottom of the head rail. The brackets must be 4" from each end, and evenly spaced. For example, if you have a head rail up to 62' you will need two brackets. If you are not sure how many brackets you will need, you can look it up online as there are many different sources to help you.
- Next, you will need to mark where you want to place head rail on your wall. Make sure you mark each bracket position from the previous step. After you are done with that you need screw in the brackets onto the wall. You should probably use a drill bit to help the screws go in easier. When the brackets are secure on the wall you want to attach the mounting clips to the brackets by using nuts and bolts. Make sure that the center clip is 2" from the wall while doing this.
- Now that the brackets are in place you should be able to snap the head rail right on by simply sliding it into the mounting clips. After the head rail is on you need to put one blind in at a time. They should snap easily in place on the top of the inside of the head rail.
- After the vertical blinds are all hanging you can cover it with the valance. Now you have installed vertical blinds on your own. If you have problems or concerns you can contact your manufacturer. Just remember to make sure you have everything you need before starting the project, and to measure correctly.
