You have heard of lead poisoning and mainly in children. Why? What is it about lead that is making people sick? How can you know if your home is lead free? Is there something you can do to protect your family for lead poisoning? Yes, there is something you can do to make sure you home is lead free, but first let's learn about lead.

Lead is a common workplace illness that will affect many each and every year. It will also affect many children and will come from inside their homes. Lead can be in foods, water, and even the air you breath. One of the most common places to find this is in paint, among other things. It has even become a custom to check your children's blood level to make sure they are not in danger of lead poisoning. Doctor's offices can do these simple blood tests and keep your mind at ease.

The best way to make sure that you and your family are safe from lead is to check you home. If you live in a older home then the chances that your walls are painted with a lead based paint is very likely. It is easy to get someone to come out and check all the spots in your home to make sure you are living in a lead free environment.

Once you have done that you can feel better about the chances of lead being in your home; however, if you ever do home improvements, you will need to make sure that your not brings those lead products back in your home. Now days, most paints are made without lead, but check to make sure before you paint your kids room their favorite color or the kitchen.

Now you may thing you have everything lead out of your home once you do these things, but that is not always the case. Lead can even be in the soil around your home. That's right the soil that young children tend to put in their mouths at one point of time or another, could actually contain lead and make your child deadly ill. Make sure to cover all the stops when it comes to something that can potentially harm you and your family. Get someone to check inside and outside your home. Then take all the necessary precautions to keep those things away from your home in the future.

Taking chances on your families health is not a option. It is something you should not take lightly and need to make sure that the safety of your family is under control, when it comes to lead poisoning. Doing these things will ensure that you have a lead free home for you and your family to enjoy, without worry. You don't have to worry with that chipping paint that may have lead in it, because it is now gone and new paint takes its place. It is better and safer for your family.

WARNING: Make sure to use and follow all safety precautions when dealing with tools, power tools, or chemicals to prevent injuries or illnesses. Also make sure to wear the proper safety clothing to prevent injuries.
