Most of us have been known to use the old method of simply wiping that stubborn lipstick off with a tissue only to be left with a faded sticky mess. So what is the secret to removing lipstick? A lot of women swear by cold cream and why not? Not only is cold cream a product designed to remove makeup, but it has the added bonus of leaving your lips soft and smooth. Cold creams, however, are not the only beauty secret for removing lip color. Both baby oil and petroleum jelly are also ideal for removing lipstick and keeping your lips soft and smooth. Now that you know the secret to removing lip color, just follow the steps below and you'll be well on your way to lipstick-free lips in no time.

  1. Your first step is to decide whether you'll use cold cream, baby oil or petroleum jelly for removing your lipstick. Dab enough of theproduct of your choiceto coat your lips and using a soft washcloth, rubin a circular motion to loosen the lipstick from your lips.

  2. Rinse the washcloth with cool water and rub the wet cloth in the same circular motion, removing theproductand lipstick from your lips.

  3. If you find that there is some residue left from your lip color, repeat the first and second step until all traces of the color are gone.

  4. Finally, apply your choice of a moisturizer made specifically for lips. A good lip moisturizer is essential in keeping lips hydrated and soft, especially at bedtime. It's also a good idea to use a lip moisturizer before applying your lipstick for the same reasons.
