Who will train the dog?

When finding a well trained guard dog, or choosing a trainer for your choice in dog. Always look for personal referrals and trainers who are proven to take pups and turn them into family safe guard animals.
Never though go with a breed of dog in which you believe you could not control. With any guard dog mistakes can be made on who is an intruder and who is not. The best thing to do with familys is to find a dog that is alarming to the eye. But not vicious at all. A dog with a deep bark or large body set.

What are good scary looking good dogs.

First you must remember breeds dont just have good dogs. Good dogs are raised to be good dogs. A trick is to never raise your hand to a dog, do not swat your dog with newspaper of yell at your dog in an alarming manor. If your dog is raised without elements of fear. Your dog will not develop trust issues with people. And their for can be a safe large family pet without the fear of aggression.

Chow Chow - This is a large very fluffy dog. Resembles a cross between a pug, Pomeranian, and a St. Bernard.
They are hefty dogs with deep voices and a large muscular structure. But can be raised to be big teddy bears with the family.

Rottweilers - A good dog for a family with no kids. There is talk about this breed along with Dobermans having bad temperment. If you must have one of these breeds with children find one from a reputable breeder. Animals with genetic instincts to easily become defensive is scientifically proven to be bred to be more tame by following specific methods. Never trust a breeders word. Go by their customers experiences.

Akita - A very, very, very, big dog. Good temperment with good raising. But due to the dogs massive size raising an akita pup can be a difficult time. And assistance from educated dog trainers may be a wise way to go. But a well worth it beautiful dog.

Pit-bull - Theirs a lot of rumors going around, and with pit bulls even being known to attack upon good raising I would not personally recommend pit bulls. Although American Bulldogs I know first hand from living with a breeder are very sweet dogs. If you want a large pit-bull looking dog, go with the American Bulldog, they're like massive teddy bears.
