  • If you are in college, find the edition indicated by your professor. Look at the number of days when orders from similar a location as yours could be delivered. It is important to have your ordered book delivered before your class so that you can browse its completeness.
  • Your subjects would determine what books you need. Some colleges and universities even have a list of books for reference purposes and classroom use.   • You may also buy used text books . There are websites selling used but good as new look text books . Of course the price is much lower than the brand new version. Virtual bookstores sell books at bargain prices.
  • Look for soft cover books because they cost less than the hardbound. They contain the same texts anyway. If you had planned ahead you can save more by visiting different websites. Soft cover books or newsprint books do not usually have the same ISBN, although the contents are the same. Your problem is when you are through with it and want to sell it back.   • Buy older editions of the books that have been prescribed. Older editions cost less than the latest edition. Although there might be portions that are updated in the latest edition, if the topic you need were not too sensitive, the older version would suffice.
