You may ask yourself, how does a consumer choose the tint shop that does quality work? Many times people go to a tint shop without looking into their work. This is a craps-shoot as you do not know if they do good work. There are some tips that you can follow in order to find the right tint shop that will do a good job on your vehicle.

Do a little research. You can ask friends and family if they have had tinting done and if they are happy with the results. You can also look in the Yellow Pages and see which tint shops have professional advertisements. Once you find out some of this information you can go to some tint shops and check out a few things.

How long have they been in business and do they have more than one location? Tint shops that are good will be successful by offering good service at fair prices. You should choose a tint shop that has been in business for at least 5 years in the same location. This can show that the business is one that is stable and they are more likely to be there if something goes wrong with the tint job years down the road. You can look to see if they have other shops or are a branch as this can ensure that it is a successful business.

What films do they use and want warranty offer do they give? Good tint shops carry a complete line of window films, with different colors and tints, from various manufacturers. Watch out for tint shops that only have a couple types of film and are aggressive when trying to get you to buy them. They may have received a discount on film and are not thinking of your needs or wants. The warranty generally has to do with the type of film you choose. It can be a good option to buy film that comes with a lifetime warranty on both parts and labor. Many types of films will not guarantee color and fading, therefore it is a good option that you also choose one that does.

IMPORTANT: For the warranty to be valid you must get only legal window tinting on your vehicle. Having illegal tinting will make the warranty void. Be sure you get a card for the manufacturer's warranty with the date the tinting was put on, the type of film on each window, and the total cost.

Go visit the tint shop - You should go check out a shop and you will be able to find out a lot about their business. Dealers that are reputable pay close attention to customer service and should be more than happy to talk to you and show you their work. If they ignore you now, how do you think they will act if there is a problem with your tint job? Look to see how the shop is set up. Is it clean, organized, and are the tools and film organized? Usually a good tint shop will be organized and well kept. Also you should choose a tint shop that is indoors as it is important to remove all dust and dirt from the windows before they apply the tint.

Check out a sample of their work - Look at a finished car at the shop, paying close attention to the side windows. The film on the window should be applied to the inside and be totally flush against all of the four edges on that window. Take a look at the film and do not be put off if it has streaks or is discolored as the film usually takes around two weeks to dry and become clear. What you should be looking for are bubbles, as if they are on the tint it is a sign that the job was not done well. The last thing to look at is the rear window. Was the film applied in a single piece or cut in strips in order to surround the lines of the defroster? Better tinting shops will apply the film in a single strip. Check out the borders as in many vehicles there is a black frit edge as you should be sure that the film is also attached to the frit.

Get a quote - You should get a quote from the dealer for what you want in the tint with the darkness, color, and type of tint film. There are a lot of tint shops that can do a good job on your car so do not give in and compromise.

With the quotes you have received and the research you have done you should be able to find a good tint shop that will give your vehicle a great tint job.
