How to Clean Grout

Nowadays there are a lot of special products in market that claim to be able to get your grout sparkling clean but not all of them are effective. This article gives you tips to remove stains on your floor.

Do you have tiles in your bathroom? Most of us do and you most likely have had problems cleaning the grout between tiles if you have tiles in your bathroom. This is one of the hardest areas of the house to clean. It seems for some, no matter how hard they scrub and how many chemicals they use; they simply cannot get the grout clean. It seems that no matter how hard you try there is no way to get this stuff white again, it is almost a laughable matter, if it was not so frustrating.

There are some people who know how to clean grout, but it seems that most people really struggle with this. Even if you have bought some household cleaners just for grout, you may have already found out that many of these do not really do that good of a job either. It is a really frustrating situation, when you spend money on expensive cleaners that promise to remove years of mildew and calcium deposits and then low and behold they do nothing special at all.

If you have a new home, usually it is much easier to get grout clean between bathroom or kitchen tiles. However if your home is not so new and the stains have set in for years, this is usually where the problems begin. Once stains get set in, this is where they become really hard to remove. If you have new tile and keep the tile nice and clean right from the start, you most likely will not have a hard time getting them back to their original state. If you have just bought a new home, you have no idea how often the bathroom tile has been cleaned, but if the grout is still looking good, the odds are the previous homeowners were good housekeepers.

Many people have found that various bleaches work the best when they tried to clean the floor and remove any aged stains from between tile. The biggest problem with bleaches is that they can very easily stain clothing or anything else that they come into contact with. So make sure to wear old clothes and use plastic gloves to protect your hands if you are going to use bleach for any cleaning project. Even the smallest splashes will leave speckles on clothing, so it is better to be safe than sorry.

There are a couple different types of bleach that can be used for household cleaning, oxygen bleach, and Chlorine bleach. Of the two different bleaches, bleach is a less acidic and is usually sold in a more usable format. Oxygenated bleach is found in some common quality cleaners like Tide with bleach and in Oxiclean. These types of bleaches actually have a multi purpose cleaning effect. As they are used they actually release oxygen for a foam type cleaning action that allows the cleaner to get into small porous areas and the normal whitening power of bleach too. This can prove to be very effective when cleaning rough tiles or porous grout.
