2 . How to Find Free Scholarship Money

If you're one of the many of us who know your future depends on getting a good education but you just can't figure out how you're going to pay for it, don't worry! Every school out there offers some type of scholarship. Find and apply for them and you could be the recipient of free money for college.

Scholarships are a wonderful asset as you’re getting your degree. They can help you get your degree without breaking the bank and they allow you to get your education for free without the worry of having to paying back a student loan once you’ve graduated.

The most important (and often most difficult) part of applying for scholarships is finding them. One of the best places to start is to find out what scholarships each university offers, and the only way to do that is to ask. Before you pick up the phone or start scouting e-mail addresses, there is a more efficient way.

You can get free, customized information on scholarships that are right for you by filling out an online “Request Information” form with the universities of your choice at ClassesAndCareers.com. In addition to scholarship details, you will get information from each university regarding tuition cost, financial aid, course availability, and time to graduate.

Today is your day to find the scholarship for your online degree. Get started now by visiting ClassesAndCareers.com. to request free scholarship information from the university of your choice.

3 . 2009 Stimulus Plan

Starting in the 2009 tax year, under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), more parents and students will qualify over the next two years for a tax credit, the American Opportunity Credit, to pay for college expenses.

The American Opportunity Credit is not available on the 2008 returns taxpayers are filing during 2009. The new credit modifies the existing Hope Credit for tax years 2009 and 2010, making the Hope Credit available to a broader range of taxpayers, including many with higher incomes and those who owe no tax. It also adds required course materials to the list of qualifying expenses and allows the credit to be claimed for four post-secondary education years instead of two. Many of those eligible will qualify for the maximum annual credit of $2,500 per student.

The full credit is available to individuals whose modified adjusted gross income is $80,000 or less, or $160,000 or less for married couples filing a joint return. The credit is phased out for taxpayers with incomes above these levels. These income limits are higher than under the existing Hope and Lifetime Learning Credits
