Here is a step-by-step method on how to install a closet rod.
∗ The first thing you have to do is decide the amount of weight that the closet rod will be able to support. You can choose from a tension rod which you cannot put much weight on or a heavier wooden rod, which can support more weight. A sturdier wooden rod will be attached to wall studs so you can hold heavier and more clothes.

∗ For clothes that are full length you should hang the rod around 65-68 inches from the floor. If you are using two rods in the closet the rod on the top should be around 75-80 inches from the floor. The bottom rod should be around 36-40 inches from the floor.
