Steps

  1. Clean the Lint Filter inside the dryer, before putting clothes inside.
  2. Put your wet freshly cleaned laundry in the dryer (should still be moist).
  3. If garment usually has a lot of lint, best way is to dry garment on its own inside out this way no lint gets on any other clothes.
  4. Put a dryer sheet (prevents static build up) in the dryer, two if you like to overload your washer and dryer or are cleaning a comforter.
  5. Set your dryer as indicated by the manufacturer of your clothes.
  6. Let the dryer do the work.
  7. Clean the Lint Filter again, after you have pulled out your clothes and secured them.

Tips

  • Cheaper dryer sheets may require you use more to get the same effect as a name brand like "bounce" sheets.
  • Be careful when cleaning new clothes as they may transfer color in hot water.
  • Wash severely stained or oily clothes separately, one oil soaked shirt can make 20 brown socks >< .
  • Make sure you clean your dryer's lint trap before and after you do a load of laundry.
  • Save wear on your clothes and discourage lint by turning your clothes inside-out before washing them. This not only keeps some lint away, but also keeps colored clothes from fading so quickly.

Warnings

  • Money will usually not appreciate being washed and dried. "Laundering" is not a literal term.
  • Use the same caution when employing a washer and dryer as with any other major appliance.
