How to Properly Install a Ceiling Fan Danbury CT

Steps

  1. Turn the power off at the breaker box to the room you'll be working in.
  2. Start by carefully removing the current fixture from the ceiling. If there is not already a proper ceiling fan box, install one before continuing.
  3. Slide the mounting bracket onto the ceiling, and secure it with 2 screws. Assemble the down rod or canopy onto the fan from the ground.
  4. Install the remote control that came with the fan, or one that you bought.
  5. Slide the fan into the mounting bracket. Measure the wires and cut the length that is needed. Wire the fan wires to the house wires and tape and cap them off.
  6. Slide the canopy up to the ceiling. Secure it with screws.If there are any stoppers in the blade mounting holes remove them.
  7. Mount each blade to the blade bracket from the ground making sure to use the included washers and insert the two screws into the blade bracket.
  8. Align the blade bracket with the holes and secure with 2 screws.
    • If you are installing the fan with a light kit, wire the light kit wires to the fan wires. Cap and tape them off, and secure the screws.
    • If you are not installing the fan with a light kit, tape all the fan wires together and cap them off. Secure the light cap to the fan with screws.
  9. Attach the pull chains to the fan. At the same time, if you are installing your fan with a remote control, install a battery into the remote control.
  10. Install the light shades/covers and light bulbs.
  11. Flip the breaker back on, and test out your newly-installed ceiling fan!

Tips

  • If at any time you feel like you cannot continue the installation, consult an electrician.

  • As with any electrical project, turn off the breaker box first before doing any electrical work .
