This can be a totally strategic move than would allow you to save on management hours, improve overall process efficiency, and reduce overhead expense.

Here are the suggested ways to use employment outsourcing services to benefit your organization and manage your manpower.

  1. Identify processes for outsourcing. Identify specific areas or processes in your operation that you can outsource. Weigh aspects to see if you can trust these services externally. Without diminishing quality and efficiency, you should be able to identify areas (not the too critical areas) that can be serviced by leasing services companies.
  2. Get quotations from service providers and compare them. Study the track record of your potential service providers, their rates, and the competencies and qualification of their people. This will give you a good gauge whether they can indeed help you, or will only pose more headaches. There are leasing service companies that focus on specific areas such as accounting, payroll, or contact center providers.
  3. Negotiate. As with other service providers or firms, most upfront quotations can still be negotiated. Tell them your terms, your approximate time frame, and they can give you their best rates.
  4. Close the deal. Prepare all the paperwork, including employee agreements (worker's compensation, percentages of hours) and contracts clearly stating the commencement and scope of work.
  5. Transition. This is usually a four-month period wherein all the components included in providing the said services (software, systems, and others) are being transferred to the leasing service. This may involve a lot of coordination, supervision and expectation setting from both service provider and client.
  6. Service delivery. The actual system delivery managed by your employee leasing service provider. The time-frame is as dictated in your contract of services.
  7. Evaluating. By this time, you should be able to highlight significant changes or any areas for improvement in the service delivery, and discuss them with the service provider. You can identify standards and see whether they are able to maintain standards that you have set.
  8. End of contract or renewal. Based on the output, performance, and impact to your organization, you can then choose to continue the service with the same or another provider, or choose to have the work done internally again.
