The Betts House is pleased to remind residents and guests of our city of the exhibit, More Great Cincinnati Families at Home, on view through September 30, 2009. The exhibit includes the residences of the Emery, Longworth-Anderson, Maxwell-Schmidlapp-Graydon, and Werk-Oskamp families. The companion lecture series, given by architectural historian Walter E. Langsam, offers an in-depth look at each of the families, their homes, and their architects. Lectures includes slide presentations featuring historic and contemporary views of the exteriors and interiors of the homes. The final lecture will be held September 19, 2009 and covers the homes of the Maxwell-Schmidlapp-Graydon families. This date has been moved from the original September 12th lecture date. The lecture series is sponsored by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Ohio. This program is made possible, in part, by the Ohio Humanities Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The lecture will be held at the Cincinnati Fire Museum, 315 West Court Street in downtown Cincinnati. Admission is $10 for the public and $5 for members of the Betts House or the Cincinnati Fire Museum. The fee includes admission to the Betts House exhibit More Great Cincinnati Families at Home and a pass to visit the Cincinnati Fire Museum. Pre-registration is requested.
