Gather you cleaner kitchen arsenal. Instead of expensive products and a million and one items to keep your kitchen clean, you can use a wide range of products that are inexpensive and clean your kitchen just as well (if not better). You will need.

  • Anti-bacterial dish soap. This will be the only "real" cleaner you will need for a great kitchen. It will kill the bacteria that many raw food products leave behind and can be used for washing dishes as well.
  • Vinegar. Distilled white vinegar is cheap and one of the best cleaners available.
  • Lemon juice. Lemon juice also does a good job cleaning and will leave your kitchen smelling great!
  • Baking soda. Another really inexpensive product that will also be great in cleaning various parts of your kitchen.
  • Aluminum foil. This isn't really a cleaner, but it can save you a lot of work in the kitchen.
Wash your own dishes. Dishwashers are often used in houses these days, but they cost a lot of money to run. You are paying for the water, to heat it, to run the dishwasher, and for the special detergents. Fill a sink or a tub with hot water and use plain anti-bacterial dish soap for clean dishes. A rag will suffice. If you have pans that need scouring, then get a green or red scour pad for tough messes. Line your burner drip pans and oven with aluminum foil. Instead of cleaning the oven often with harsh chemicals and instead of spending hours scrubbing drip pans, line them with aluminum foil. It is inexpensive and easy to use and will save you time and money. Make your own multi-purpose cleaner. Mix 1/2 cup vinegar with 1 1/2 cup water in a 16-ounce spray bottle and you have your own very inexpensive multi-purpose cleaner. You can use that on the stove, the counter, the sink, and even in the refrigerator. Scrub difficult messes. Sometimes you will come across difficult messes that need just a bit more. For these, add a dab of baking soda and use it to help you scrub the mess up. Clean up after your meats. Everyone knows that meats leave a lot of bacteria behind and you have a lot of cleaners designed specifically for cleaning counters, cutting boards, and other surfaces after raw meat has touched them. Well you certainly don't have to go that far. If you have a big mess, then add a dab of your anti-bacterial soap to your rag and use that for cleaning up the mess. It will kill bacteria and you can clean your counters or other surfaces just as clean for a very small fraction of the price.

Mop your floors. Add 1 cup of baking soda to your hot mop water. Then add 1 cup of lemon juice for a great fresh scent throughout the kitchen. Mop the floor using a rag on your hands and knees for a cleaner floor or with an inexpensive mop for more convenience ...
