Retro-spectroscopic is the fall quarter juried showcase of Art + Technology undergraduate and graduate students working in new media, hybrid forms, video, holography, 2D/3D animation/modeling, interactive robotics and algorithmic composition, sound, digital imaging and web-based artworks. Dan Andreason Children's Book Illustrator Monday, November 30 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Canzani Center Auditorium, 60 Cleveland Avenue at Gay Street Dan Andreason has illustrated many well-loved books for children, including River Boy: The Story of Mark Twain; Pioneer Girl: The Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder and Samantha's World: A Girl's-eye View of the Turn of the Century (American Girls Collection). Andreason also co-authored and is the illustrator for The Creature in Crestwood Park with Barbara Ford in 1996 and the 2003 book Stopping to Home with Lea Wait. Come hear James Yood speak about Dale Chihuly's work in the context of other contemporary artists who sculpt glass and make use of light. Yood, a professor of Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, has authored several books and writes frequently for magazine, including Artforum, Art and Auction, and GLASS. This is the 2009 Cunningham Lecture. Dr. Charles Cunningham was a longtime friend and generous supporter of the Museum. Admission is $5 for nonmembers and free for CMA members. Seating is limited.
