Description:
Barbershop Music and baseball are two American originals that are fun for all ages to enjoy! Alliance Chorus from Columbus, OH will delight crowds with the sweet sounds of their barbershop harmony. The concert will be held in Founder's Hall at 1:00. During the afternoon the Great Black Swamp Frogs from Toledo and the Ohio Village Muffins of Columbus will take the field for the annual Sauder Village Vintage Baseball Game. Using rules from the late 19th century and wearing period uniforms, the teams play the game as it was originally created. After the game, youngsters from the audience will be encouraged to try hitting the ball and running bases.

Recognized as one of the best exhibits of traditional hooked rugs in the country, the 2008 Sauder Village Rug Hooking event promises to be the best ever! New this year, Rug Hooking Magazine's "Celebrations Exhibit" will be on display exclusively in Archbold. This special display will feature nearly 60 of the top rugs in the country and is sure to draw rug hooking enthusiasts from across the country. Special Guest Artist Diane Phillips will hold workshops and display her works. Other event highlights include hundreds of additional rugs on display, rug hooking demonstrations and vendor booths.
