Access Control

Cylinder A complete operating unit which usually consists of the plug shell, tumblers, springs, plug retainer, a cam/tailpiece or other actuating device, and all other necessary operating parts. Cylinder Guard A protective cylinder mounting device that covers the cylinder on the front of a door to prevent prying. See also: Cylinder, Plate

Deadbolt A Deadbolt is a lock with a bolt, which requires a deliberate action to extend, and which resists end pressure in the unlocking direction when fully extended. See also: Bolt, Door Frame
