Logan International Airport
When you are traveling to Logan International Airport, you should know the quickest way to get there. You also might want to know about the shops, restaurants, and other services offered at the airport.
Logan International Airport has two hotels to stay at when you arrive or before you depart. The Hilton Boston Airport is the newest hotel with a skybridge that takes you to the terminal. The hotel does have a shuttle service to the terminal for people who prefer not to use the skybridge. The hotel is only a couple miles to downtown Boston, and the rooms are completely soundproofed so you have no noise from the airport to disrupt your sleep.
The Hyatt Harborside is located on the airport grounds and has a shuttle service to and from the terminals. If you want to visit the business district of Boston, you can take a seven minute boat ride to the other side of the harbor. The hotel has two hundred and seventy rooms that were recently renovated. The ballroom is an idea place for wedding receptions as it holds up to four hundred and fifty people.
Both hotels have many room amenities, but the Harborside hotel will accommodate children more so than the Hilton. The Hilton is set up for business persons and adults that do not want or need any of the hotel amenities such as a fitness room or a swimming pool. The airport and the surrounding community rate both of the hotels highly and recommend them for long or short stays.

If you are coming from the north, you will take I-93 south to the 24B exit to the Callahan Tunnel and Route 1A north the airport. You may take a second way from the north, which is I-93 south to Route 60 and the signs will lead you to the airport.
From the south, you want to take I-93 north to exit 20 to I-90 east and the Ted Williams Tunnel. You will then take I-90 east exit 26 to the airport. Keep in mind that the inbound lanes to the airport are for departures on the upper level and the arrivals are on the lower level. The length of time it takes to reach the airport terminal will depend on the traffic and the time of day.
If you have a rental call to return, you need to go to the appropriate area in the parking garage that your rental car is from and wait for the shuttle service to take you to the terminal that houses the rental car company. This is going to be either terminal C or E. You will follow the signs in the parking garage, as they will take you right where you need to go.

There are some requirements for children traveling from Logan International Airport. If a child is under the age of two, they will fly free on domestic flights. If children are traveling on international flights, they need to have a ticket no matter what their age. Even though the child does not require a ticket to travel, you still must inform the airlines that you have a child traveling with you. You do need to have proper documentation for the child as well as immunization records.
If you have a waiting time for your flight, there is a play area for children located in Terminal C. You may find entertainment packages at the airport containing coloring book and crayons. The airline does ask that you bring a snack for the children to take along on the trip. If you need a child safety seat for your child, you can ask the attendant for one; however, it is not a mandatory requirement by the FAA.
When you plan to travel with children, you can tell the airlines twenty-four hours in advance, and they will have a special meal for the child instead of a meal that would be served to the other passengers. You may want to sit in a window seat as well; the airline believes this helps distract the children and keep them occupied.

There is a new policy in effect at the airport. You must take your parking ticket with you to the airport terminal. Before you return to your vehicle, you must stop at the Express Parking Pay Station and pay for your parking. The attendant will validate your parking ticket, and you then insert the ticket into the machine when you exit. This has helped to cut down on long waiting lines upon exiting the airport parking garage.
Airport parking security is the finest in the area. There are patrols that watch over the parking garage twenty-four hours a day. There are, however, some things that the airport asks of you. They want you to lock your car, take your ticket with you, write down your location, and do not leave anything of value in your vehicle.
