Having used what might be termed First Generation Wireless Headphones, and having been sorely let down, I must admit I was initially sceptical about the Wireless Headphones for iPod from Logitech. Determined to believe that the march of technology must have rested overnight at Wireless Headphones Hotel, and also to keep an open mind, I charged the battery in the transmitter unit and headphones via the supplied mains adaptor.
Once the batteries were topped up, I connected the transmitter unit to my PC speaker output. I don't actually own an iPod; so playing MP3 files via WinAmp on the computer was more practical, since I was at the PC desk anyway. There is, however, much more functionality on offer if you do own one of those white things, and Logitech has received the seal of approval from Apple - these wireless headphones are genuine iPod accessories. This is glaringly obvious from the stark bright-white design of the transmitter unit, cables, and headphones themselves.
I was forced to let go of the old prejudices and beliefs as soon as I started up the music and donned the headphones - the sound quality is simply incredible. I was mightily impressed by the frequency response; from the deepest bass to the shrillest treble note, these headphones deliver. And this is before nipping off to the lavvy, making a cup of coffee, and generally wandering about aimlessly with music filling my ears just because I could. The headphones have a volume control (and track forward/back if you own an iPod) built in, so one can compensate for the variations in recording level between different tracks.
They are a little bit fiddly to get comfortable, but other than that I can't fault them. I really like these headphones, and I want to keep them. Glean from that what you will!
