This class will present a common sense approach to successful mutual fund investing by showing what you need to do and know before making an investment. We will look at specific a criterion that needs to be identified. Using example funds, we will utilize BetterInvesting's Stock Fund Check List, Comparison Guide, and Trend Report along with the online screening tool and mutual fund data available on BetterInvesting's Mutual Fund website to provide a framework for finding suitable funds. We will focus on the analysis process including how a fund invests, what a fund invests in, the quality and performance of management, and fund costs. We will discuss maintaining portfolio quality, achieving diversification, which types of funds belong inside and outside of tax-sheltered accounts, and tracking the fund to make sure it continues to be suitable in meeting your needs is critical. The new Mutual Fund Handbook ($15 value)and a workbook will be included in the registration fee.
