Maaco Enterprises is America's body shop, with close to 500 body shop locations across the continent. The company provides auto paint and auto body repair services for over 12,000 vehicles a week, 600,000 a year, which adds up to more than any other company in North America. Maaco offers relief from chips, dings, dents, and other auto body blemishes. The company also franchises Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting shops in five Canadian provinces. Maaco Enterprises is headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and the executive offices of Maaco Systems Canada are in Milton, Ontario.

Maaco estimates that its franchisees have painted more than 16 million vehicles since the company was founded in 1972. To visualize how big Maaco has become, and the progress it has made since its establishment, the 16.5 million vehicles that Maaco has repaired since 1972 could create a traffic jam 15 lanes wide from New York all the way to Los Angeles. The company does business with vehicle fleet operators, including ARAMARK, DHL, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, as well as with individuals. Anthony Martino is the founder and owner of Maaco as well as the co-founder of the AAMCO transmission repair chain, and was Chairman and CEO until his untimely passing in late January 2008.

In 1962, Anthony A. Martino launched the AAMCO Transmissions franchise chain when the auto industry started giving preference to automatic transmissions. He sold his interest in the company and launched Maaco in 1972. At that time, the production auto painting (total body paint jobs) market was dominated by low-cost chains and high-cost dealerships. A quality job could cost more than the value of an older car. By building a production system model that allowed the company to turn out quality paint jobs for a fraction of the cost of dealerships, Maaco gave birth to a franchise model. The auto collision repair market is 10 times bigger than the $1 billion production auto painting market and Maaco has historically dominated, with so much more competition. One of Maaco's major goals is changing the misconception that it mostly paints and does body work on older cars. Advertising now stresses collision and spot repair capabilities for newer cars, as well. Currently, Maaco is working to certify all of its franchise centers in collision and spot paint repairs to late-model vehicles. About 200 centers were certified as of June 2007, and the company expects the project to be completed in early 2008.

Along with its regular services, Maaco provides high-quality and seamless repairs. The company and its employees claim that they can do the job faster than an independent body shop, and at a far less cost than its local and national competitors. Customers can affordably and enjoyably pay a third less for auto body repair at Maaco, which is especially important when customers are paying out of pocket. With auto-body repair provided by Maaco, satisfied customers will be driving their cars sooner, with even more money in their wallets.

Entrepreneurs seek out the Maaco body shop franchise opportunity because of the company's popularity among vehicle owners in the U.S and Canada. Maaco is North America's #1 automotive aftermarket franchise in terms of unit sales and furthermore, experts in franchising have recognized Maaco for its overall excellence, growth potential and helpful support systems for store operators.

Maaco counts the following among its commercial customers: Sears, Comcast, Fedex, DHL, Aramark, USPS, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Aside from auto bodywork, Maaco also works with insurance providers in order to help ease the troubles for customers who have gotten into major and even minor accidents. Having an auto accident can be stressful for all drivers, but Maaco helps ease the pain and delivers you a car that has regained its original beauty, handling and performance.
Maaco specializes in helping people with "out of pocket" pay arrangements, but the company also does lots of insurance work and works with every major carrier, every day.
If making a claim is the best course of action for the client, Maaco will contact the insurance company and arrange for an appraiser to inspect their car. It will also arrange for a low-cost car rental and most importantly, Maaco work with the insurer to get the repair done right.

Maaco further saves its customers money when they decide to return a leased car. Lease turn-back is a smoother, faster and less-expensive experience at Maaco and can be reached by visiting any local Maaco body shop, where customers can economically restore its auto paint finish to like-new condition. On average, Maaco auto body repair costs were 33% less than at dealer or independent shops.
