According to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American men underwent more than a million cosmetic procedures in 2007 - a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. Botox Cosmetic was one of the top two procedures.
"Many people may be surprised that many of my clients are men who are increasingly seeking out a refreshed and more youthful look," says Dr. Paul Cohen, cosmetic dermatologist. "The reason for this growing trend is that men have a tendency to look angry or tired as they age, which can impact both their work and personal life."
Men commonly treat the forehead lines or the glabella, which are the lines found between the eyes. Many businessmen in particular are getting cosmetic treatments to advance their careers or stay ahead of younger competition.
